A private collection of more than 1000 Steiff teddy bears was auctioned at Christie’s in London in 2010. The German company Steiff has made soft toys since the late nineteenth century, and is a highly prized brand amongst collectors. Many of the toys in the collection raised thousands of pounds for the anonymous seller.

Christie’s’ teddy bear expert, Daniel Agnew, offered a guided tour of the sale’s highlights, including the most expensive and oldest teddy bears in the collection.  Steiff bears, with a small metal “Steiff” clip in the ear, they are highly collectable and valuable. Whether you are making your first bear purchase or you are a seasoned bear collector, Steiff Bears will simply delight.
